Upgrading Your Plan

When you upgrade, you get immediate access to the new plan’s features.
1

Open billing settings

Go to Settings > Billing in your clarife dashboard.
2

Choose a new plan

Select the plan you want to upgrade to (Pro or Business) and the billing interval (monthly or yearly).
3

Complete checkout

Confirm the change through the Paddle checkout. Billing is prorated — you only pay the difference for the remainder of your current period.
4

Enjoy new features

New limits and features are available immediately after checkout completes.
Prorated billing means you are only charged the proportional amount for the time remaining in your current billing cycle. Paddle handles this calculation automatically.

Downgrading Your Plan

Downgrades work differently from upgrades:
  • Your current plan remains active until the end of the billing period.
  • At the end of the period, the lower plan takes effect.
  • Your data is preserved — documents exceeding the new plan’s limits become read-only.
Before downgrading, make sure your usage is within the target plan’s limits. Documents over the limit will still be accessible (read-only) but you cannot create new ones.

Switching Billing Interval

You can switch between monthly and yearly billing at any time:
SwitchWhen it takes effect
Monthly to yearlyImmediately (prorated credit applied)
Yearly to monthlyAt the end of the current yearly period

Yes. You can choose a plan during the trial. You will not be charged until the trial period ends.
If you upgrade mid-cycle, Paddle calculates the unused portion of your current plan and credits it toward the new plan. You only pay the difference.
The change takes effect at the end of your current yearly period. You will not receive a partial refund for the remaining months.
