Overview

clarife exports documents to PDF using your browser’s native print engine. This approach ensures full Unicode support, proper image rendering, and consistent layout across all platforms.
PDF export is available on all plans. Free plan PDFs include a small clarife watermark. Pro removes the watermark. Business adds custom branding.

How to Export a PDF

1

Open your document

Navigate to the document you want to export in the editor.
2

Click the Export button

In the editor toolbar, click Export and select PDF from the dropdown menu.
3

Review the print preview

Your browser’s print dialog opens with a preview of the document. Check that all pages, images, and formatting look correct.
4

Save as PDF

In the print dialog, select Save as PDF as the destination (not a physical printer) and click Save.

What’s Included in the PDF

  • All text blocks with original formatting (headings, lists, bold, italic, code)
  • Screenshots and images at full resolution
  • Code blocks with syntax highlighting
  • Tables with borders and alignment
  • Dividers between sections

Tips for Best Results

  • Use Chrome or Edge for the most consistent PDF output. Safari and Firefox may render slight differences.
  • Check page breaks — headings automatically avoid orphaned positions at the bottom of pages.
  • Large documents export well, but very image-heavy documents may take a few seconds to render in the print preview.

The browser print engine handles Unicode text, embedded images, and complex layouts more reliably than PDF generation libraries. It also lets you choose paper size and orientation before saving.
No. The clarife watermark is included on Free plan exports. Upgrade to Pro or Business to export watermark-free PDFs.
On the Business plan, set up your branding in Settings > Branding. Your logo and colors are automatically applied to PDF exports.
Make sure you are using a Chromium-based browser (Chrome, Edge, Arc, Brave). Also check that the print dialog’s scale is set to 100% and “Background graphics” is enabled.
